Former chef at Michelin-starred eatery launches local supper club

A Columbus chef with Michelin star-worthy skills has launched a supper club of his own.

Jeremy Nelson, a longtime chef who previously worked at the Michelin starred LA eatery Sona, has relocated to central Ohio and launched a new, high-end culinary concept.

Named Umbral Supper Club, the eatery opened in May, and offers an 8-10 course tasting menu with separate cocktails and wine available for purchase. Nelson said the menu is subject to change, but depending on how he likes a dish, many courses may stay the same.

Currently, Umbral is held on the last Sunday of each month at Nomad, which is located at 2050 Polaris Pkwy.

“Opening a brick and mortar would ideally be the second half of 2025, but we are in the very early stages and that is a hopeful estimate,” Nelson said. “Right now, we are just trying to cook some good food and test out the market as there aren’t a lot of venues in Columbus offering tasting menus.”
