Former corporate marketing pro turns to pizza in what could be become Columbus’ hot new pop-up
What made Dan Dover quit a corporate marketing job at a major company in order to launch a traveling food pop-up? Pizza did.
Dover plans to kick off a summer “tour” for his concept, the Proud Mary’s Pizza pop-up, at Antiques on High on June 30. Pizza will be sold from 1-5 p.m., or until sold out.
He told 614Now that he’s also planning at least two more pop-ups in the immediate future, at Parable Coffee and Hoof Hearted Brewing, although dates for these have not been finalized yet.

Dover describes Proud Mary’s pizza as “Neopolitan with a slightly crunchier crust–soft yet slightly crunchy.”
you’re And if wondering about the name? The marketing pro turned pizza maker said the concept is inspired by his late grandmother.
“The name is Proud Mary’s Pizza, influenced by my Grandma Mary’s love for cooking, bringing people together and her lifelong dream of being a short-order cook,” he said, “She had many accomplishments in her 83 years but I want to make sure I’m giving her dream a chance to flourish.”
