Former Short North eatery reopens for special chef pop-ups; first one is this month

Well, they’re back! And as they said in their announcement, “We promised we would be!”

Hiraeth, located at 36 E. Lincoln St., quickly became the talk of the town this year and last, not only for their gorgeous interior, but their interactive kitchen where guests could watch esteemed chefs create their dishes on live flames, right in front of them. Not to mention the incredible wood-fired menu options and unique, hand-crafted cocktails.

BJ Lieberman and Bronwyn Haines, the husband & wife duo behind Hiraeth (and Chapman’s Eat Market and Ginger Rabbit Jazz Lounge), made the tough decision to close the restaurant for dine-in service last May. But they promised to reimagine the restaurant, hoping to use it has a hotspot for chef-driven dinners and special events.

And they kept their promise. On Friday, September 20 and Saturday Sep 21, Hiraeth is hosting a XOLO Cockail Tasting menu, which will be “Midwest Coast-inspired.” This one-of-a-kind popup includes five cocktails by XOLO along with five complimentary snacks by local, award winning chefs.

Bert Chavez, the Tijuana-born, L.A. raised owner of XOLO, specializes in these pop-up dinners. He infuses traditional Mexico-based drinks and methods with his own modern twist.

Tickets are $125 per person, and it covers the entire experience (5 drinks, 5 snacks, and gratuity).

See you there!
