Grandview bar & wine shop from ‘America’s Most Imaginative Bartender’ closing this weekend
In 2021, Luke and Annie Pierce opened a wine & cocktail bar in the heart of Grandview as an answer to Columbus’ need for more grab-and-go natural wine options. Three years later, and their popular concept is closing its doors for good this weekend.
If the Pierce’s name rings a bell, it’s probably because you’ve had one of the best cocktails of your life at their Brewery District/German Village cocktail bar, named Lawbird. Plus, Annie Pierce earned the accolade of America’s “Most Imaginative Bartender” back in 2017, beating out mixologists from 33 North American cities, dubbed the first-ever female to win this United States Bartenders Guild contest.
When Lawbird had to abruptly close due to the pandemic, they transitioned the spot into a grab-and-go “bodega-style” bar, where guests could grab bottles of wine, cool snacks like tinned fish and pickles, and to-go, homemade cocktails. Eventually, Lawbird reopened, but the Pierce’s realized that Columbus absolutely loved their bodega concept. So, Lawbird Supply House was born.
Lawbird Supply House opened its doors at 1306 Grandview Ave., and it quickly became the spot for chilling out with funky, natural wine or a dirty martini, or grabbing a few rare wine bottles to-go for a night inside your own home. But it looks like we’re going to have to seek out some other options now.

They posted on their Instagram today, July 24, that this week will be the last. “This week we say goodbye to the Law Bird Supply House. We’ve had a blast running this lil shop and it definitely saw us through some WILD times…”
Their last days will specifically be this Wednesday-Saturday. All wines will be 15% off state minimum pricing until they sell out, so make sure to stock up on some wine you can’t find anywhere else in the city. Stop in Wed-Thurs, 4pm-9:30pm, Friday, 4pm-10:30pm, and Saturday from 11am-4pm.
We’ll definitely miss Lawbird Supply House. Fortunately, many of their wine and bottled cocktails they served there can still be found at their OG cocktail lounge, Lawbird.
