Local pizzeria closes, but popular longstanding pizza shop opening second location in space

First, there was Mr. T’s – then Dough Boyz Pizza took over the space – and about five months later, the carry-out pizza spot will now host an ultra-popular, longstanding pizzeria.

That’s right – the rumors are true – Stadz Pizzeria is opening in the open carry-out kitchen located in The Pub in Gahanna, located at 207 W. Johnstown Rd. This marks their second location ever, and owner Alex Stadler said he couldn’t be more excited for this new opportunity.

“This is exactly what we’ve been looking for four years,” he said. “We wanted a second location, but not another dine-in location. We just wanted a take-out only place.”

When Dough Boyz unexpectedly moved out after opening there in March, Gahanna Pub called Stadler and told him the space was available. “It’s perfect,” he said. “It’s connected to the bar, which makes it all the better. And we know all the regulars there since I used to live in Gahanna.”

Patrons have the option to grab their Stadz to-go pizza from a walk-up window connecting the pizzeria to the bar, and eat it right there at the bar with an ice cold beer, or they can enter through a separate side door and take their pizza home. Or, since it is Stadz after all, you might just eat it right there in your car.

They’re expecting to open in hopefully four to six weeks, depending on city permits.

The original Stadz location in Blacklick isn’t going anywhere, Stadler assured us. He and his wife Toni purchased the no-frills pizza shop in 2016. And as for those rumors that they’re opening a third location, Stadler laughed and remarked, “Not any time soon.”
