National brewpub chain opening in Short North

Sav McKee

Two Short North establishments may have closed recently, but a new brewpub is making its way into both of them.

Voodoo Brewing Company, a national chain of brewpubs known for their beer and funky art/branding, and pub bites like pretzels, wings, nachos, pizza, and burgers, is opening in the two addresses, 958 & 952 N. High St., which once housed DeVine Tastings & Dining, and the longstanding cocktail bar, Mouton.

City permits show that this might be a bit cozier than the average spacious Columbus brewery, with an occupancy approved of 100 people.

Voodoo Brewing Company has over 20 other locations, franchised by beer-loving business owners. Srinivas “Sam” Madhamshetti will be the franchisee for the new Columbus location, and if that name sounds familiar, it’s because he also owns several establishments around central Ohio, including Dadus Bakery & Sweets, Trinethra Indian Supermarket, Nawabi Hyderabad House Indian Restaurant, and Nawabi.

According to Voodoo Brewing Company, the new brewpub will hopefully open this fall, and guests soon be able to enjoy this award-winning beer.
