National chain for smoothies and bowls opens location next to new Metro Park

A national chain for smoothies and bowls has opened the doors of a new location, but this one is abutting of a Columbus and Franklin County Metro Park.

Playa Bowls held the grand opening of its newest central Ohio storefront on March 30. The store is located inside the Thrive Cos. Development directly next to Quarry Trails Metro Park, at 2193 Quarry Trails Dr.

Plays Bowls is known for a variety of fruit-forward bowls, including those with açaí, pitaya (dragonfruit), coconut and even greens. The shop also offers a wide variety of smoothies and more.

The 2,200 square foot space is overseen by franchisee Brett Coleman, who is also the franchisee of multiple other Playa Bowls locations in Columbus. 

The concept, which is based in New Jersey, launched in Columbus in 2021. It offers four locations in central Ohio, with stores on OSU campus, in Dublin, New Albany and its new location near Quarry Trails.
