National food guide says this Columbus spot has the absolute best cheeseburger in the state

A single or double smashed patty with “special sauce,” American cheese, shaved onion, iceberg lettuce, and crunchy, homemade pickles. 

That’s what it takes to be Ohio’s best cheeseburger. And you can get it right here in Columbus.

The aforementioned cheeseburger order might sound simple, but it’s none other than “The Classic” from Preston’s Burgers. This local joint at 2973 N. High St. apparently serves the best cheeseburger in the Buckeye State, according to Lovefood, a national publication that creates “best of” lists based on genuine user reviews, awards and accolades, and the first-hand experience of their team. 

Preston’s focuses on local ingredients, serving smashburgers that are made-to-order and as fresh as possible, with cheese that melts in your mouth. This burger joint opened their first brick & mortar in 2023 after gaining extreme popularity in the North Market for two years.
