National restaurant guide says these are the absolute best donut shops in Columbus
Glazed, jelly-filled, classic cake with sprinkles on top…I mean, really, the beautiful part about donuts is that no matter what you get, or no matter which one is leftover in the break room, it’s still bound to be delicious.
Columbus has some local donut destinations for every palate. If you prefer creative concoctions like gooey macadamia nut, there’s a place for that. Want the best classic glazed you’ve ever had? We have a shop for that, too. The kids will only eat donuts that are covered in Lucky Charms and gummy worms? Yup, Columbus has those kind of donut shops as well.
Restaurant Clicks, a national guide for cities and restaurants, picked out the best donut shops in Columbus for us, and I now know what I’m doing Saturday morning.
Destination Donuts

This donut shop has made waves in the news recently for switching to all vegan batter for those with dairy allergies. Most of their donuts are also entirely vegan, and their daily creative flavors range from Dirty Chai, to Horchata, to Ube, and of course some classic vanilla, chocolate, and blueberry flavors.
Buckeye Donuts

Would Columbus even be complete without this local staple? This 24/7 donut shop offers a wide range of classic flavors, plus cream-filled and jelly-filled, but they’re somehow the best classics you’ve ever had. It’s the perfect place to grab a couple of dozen for a party, sleepover, or just a fun Friday at the office.
Amy’s Donuts
650 Georgesville Rd.
This 24/7 coffee + donut shop boasts over 100 different flavors of donuts, including a variety of cereal dipped donuts, covered in Fruity Pebbles and other favorites.
Donna’s Delicious Dozen
5322 N Hamilton Rd.
Key lime cheesecake donut? Pineapple upside down donut? Count me in. This locally owned donut shop serves hot coffee and a variety of indulgent donuts in outrageously delicious flavors.
Lil Donut Factory
4543 Scioto Darby Rd
Get there early – this shop is so popular that they sell out fast. They claim on their social media that they hands down have the best donuts in Columbus, so you’ll have to see for yourself. Also, they have vegan options!
Peace, Love, and Little Donuts of Worthington
656 High St, Worthington, OH
Freshly made every single day, these groovy little donuts are perfect for when you want to try a bunch of different flavors. I definitely wouldn’t consider them “little” or “bite-sized” though – they’re still piled high with fun toppings!
HoneyDip Donuts + Diner
4480 Kenny Rd.
One of the few places in Columbus where you can grab an egg sandwich, a gyro, and a dozen donuts to-go, this diner and donut shop is extremely popular for their classic options in a nostalgic setting.
Duck Donuts
7717 Sawmill Rd, Dublin, OH
This is one of those donut shops where walking in is an experience in itself. Grab an iced latte there and pick out wild donut flavors, like Bacon in the Sun and Cinna-Jelly-Bun, and for those who prefer more savory options for breakfast, they also offer breakfast sandwiches.
