New family-owned, authentic Mexican restaurant opens in former taco shop

An Ohio based, family-owned restaurant has been expanding throughout the state, with a third location opening last month here in the city.

La Loma recently opened in the former Barra Tacos restaurant, located in Upper Arlington’s Kingsdale Shopping Center at 3051 Northwest Blvd. Originating in Akron, Ohio, La Lloma’s popularity has encouraged them to grow to Canton, and now, central Ohio.

“We serve everything from seafood, tacos, tortas, fajitas, and much more,” said a family member. “While the other locations are a taqueria/store combo, this one is a little more like a sit down restaurant. They do offer takeout. They also have a full bar that makes great drinks!”

La Lloma offers authentic cuisine with an extensive option of rare protein choices, ranging from Barbacoa (marinated beef), Cabeza (cheek meat), to even Lengua (beef tongue), as well as more traditional meat offerings, like chicken, grilled steak, pork, and shrimp. Guests can enjoy their Mexican restaurant favorites, like Nachos and Quesadillas, but also more traditional and authentic cuisine, such as Sope, Birria Tacos, and Aguachiles, plus so much more.

Give them a try Monday through Thursday, 11am-9pm, Fridays and Saturdays, 11am-10pm, and Sundays, 12pm-9pm.
