New Italian-inspired bagel shop coming to Columbus area

A new Italian-inspired bagel shop is opening soon.

Likely before the end of the month, King Lola’s Italian Bagels will open its doors. The new concept is located at 2487 Beech Rd. NW. in New Albany.

According to owner Lola, who did not wish to have her last name published, the eatery is awaiting shipments of supplies before it plans to officially open for business, which will most likely happen in this week or next.

Lola, a native of Germany who recently spent time working at a New York City bagel shop, plans to bring the skills she honed working in The Big Apple to central Ohio. Bagels will be made in-house.

“With Intel and everything, there are going to be a lot of employees moving to this area, but there isn’t enough breakfast food for all of them,” she said.

In addition to bagels and bagel sandwiches, King Lola’s will also offer oatmeal, eggs Benedict, crepes and even chicken wings.
