Mr. T’s Pizza in Gahanna is now officially closed, but it won’t be long before another central Ohio pizza shop reopens the space.

According to a statement posted to the Facebook page of Dough Boyz Pizza in Galloway, the eatery is planning to take over the former Mr. T’s eatery.

Mr. T’s Pizza officially closed its doors on Feb. 3, and Dough Boyz plans to hold its grand opening on Feb. 7. The eatery is located at 207 W. Johnstown Rd. in Gahanna.

“As many of you know Mr. T’s pizza in Gahanna is closing after tonight. I have known [Mr. T’s owner] Jeff [Armstrong] for 30 years and grew up on the old Mr. T’s. After hearing he was retiring I reached out see about taking over the spot and we made it happen,” the statement reads.

The new operators noted they plan to continue offering Mr. T’s signature Hank Newman Salad, which according to Dough Boyz “has been a Gahanna staple forever.”
Mr. T’s pizza first closed in the early 2000s after remaining open for decades. Originally owned by Jim Armstrong, the pizza reopened at its Johnstown Road location in 2018 under the ownerships of his son, Jeff Armstrong.
