New restaurant group opening ‘Bexley’s first cocktail bar,’ this summer, with more concepts in the works

A new hospitality group is bringing a chic cocktail bar to Bexley, and it will be just the first of several new concepts if all goes according to plan.

According to Mike Davis, Co-Founder and Managing partner of Bexely Hospitality, a new “high-end cocktail bar” is coming to 2511 E. Main St.

Bexley Hospitality, a new restaurant group created by Davis and fellow Bexley resident Matt Eshelbrenner, hopes to open the new bar by the end of August (they’re currently targeting Labor Day weekend for the grand opening), although they plan to keep its name under wraps until the week before.

The duo believes the concept—which Davis noted was inspired by the famous cocktail spot Death & Co., in addition to Antiques on High locally—will fill a need for Bexley residents.

“At a certain point we were like, ‘Bexley has nothing really open past 9 p.m.’ There’s just nowhere to go if you’re out in the Short North and want to have a nightcap and finish the conversation, except back home,” he said.

The bar will feature a “a full spectrum of unique and classic cocktails, a curated wine list and a plenty of amazing beers to choose from,” according to Davis.

If all goes according to plan, the new cocktail bar won’t be the last spot they bring to Bexley, either. Davis and Eshelbrenner hope to open a variety of other concepts–the ideas for which are for the moment under wraps–to the central Ohio city.

“The goal is to turn Main Street into much more of a destination than it is today,” he said.
