New Tandoori restaurant that’s ‘making Indian cool’ opens this month

There’s a new Indian restaurant in town that plans on “making Indian cool,” according to their social media posts and hashtags.

Taj on Fifth will be opening sometime this month (they don’t have an exact date yet, but stay tuned), in the former restaurant, The Eatery, located at 1021 W. Fifth Avenue.

The new restaurant boasts murals from local sketch artist Cecilia Martyna, and the owners said they’re wanting the space to be “fun, vibrant, and cool.”

Not only will the new restaurant be “cool,” in their words, but it will boast traditional Tandoori cuisine. A traditional Tandoor oven was delivered last week, which is a bell-shaped clay oven that’s been used for centuries in traditional Indian cooking. The owners said the chef has cured the clay tandoor with a seasoned paste and gradual heat over three days, ensuring guests enjoy succulent Tandoori dishes.

Stay updated via social media – they should be announcing their opening date soon!
