Ohio based chain ranked #1 regional fast food restaurant by ‘USA Today,’ beating In-N-Out

There are two types of people in this world: those who like cinnamon in their chili, and those who detest it.

But it appears that the latter is in the minority, for none other than Cincinnati-based Skyline Chili has been ranked the #1 regional fast food restaurant in the U.S., according to USA Today’s 10Best Awards. Skyline beat popular competitors such as the West Coast’s In-N-Out and Texas’ infamous Whataburger.

Skyline first started 75 years ago in Cincinnati, with the founder using spices passed down from his Greek heritage, and since then, the eatery has spread to other Ohio cities (and now even Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida!). They’re famous for adding cinnamon to their chili, and even topping spaghetti noodles off with their signature chili and loads of cold, shredded cheddar cheese. 

Time and time again, Skyline proves their unique chili recipe is a mainstay here in the Midwest. There are twelve locations around Columbus in case you’re now itching or a 3-way!
