“One door closes, another opens. That’s life,” emphasized Samer Chadid. “But you gotta be positive about it.”

Chadid and his business partner, Franceso Todisco, had to say farewell to their German Village concepts last week on August 23. Bistrolino and Ferdinand Lounge officially closed after five years due to differences with the landlord.

They already had a new, high-end sports lounge planned before they got the news they’d have to close, though, and they’re following through with their new concept, called Capri. Located at 39 E. Gay St., Chadid said, “This spot will have everything.

“It’s a spot where you can watch sports, but also where you can hang out and enjoy a craft cocktail before or after dinner around town,” Chadid explained. The bar will boast around 12 different TVs, showing unique sports viewings you wouldn’t usually find at other sports bars. And if you’re not a sports person, Chadid emphasized it’s still a “cool vibe,” with low, comfortable lounge seating.

Capri will also feature elevated bar bites, like flatbreads, lobster mac & cheese, and shrimp gazpacho, plus a full beer menu in case you prefer a cold one while watching a game, rather than a craft cocktail.

Chadid said that they’re hoping to open at the end of September. Stay tuned by following Bistrolino on Instagram, which will change to Capri now that the German Village restaurant closed last Friday.
