Popular central Ohio food truck opens first-ever brick & mortar

Sav McKee

A food truck that’s made a name for itself serving authentic Latin food with an American flare, such as Valencia hot dogs, Barquisimeto burgers, arepas, and patacones, just opened their first brick & mortar restaurant last month.

Congratulations to Cactus Latin Food, which will still operate their food truck at 1003 Delaware Ave. in Marysville, as well as their brand new Latin eatery, called The Cactus Restaurant, located at 9865 Sawmill Rd. in Powell.

The Cactus Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinners daily, featuring Latin cuisine like traditional arepas (crispy white corn cakes),  patacon gratinado (crispy plantains, cheese, chicken, beef), and tequeños, (Venezuelan fried cheese sticks).

Breakfast options include corn pancakes made with cheese and sugar, called cachapas, along with pabellón criollo (eggs, shredded beef, rice, black beans, and sweet plantains), as well as bandeja paisa, a Colombian dish made with rice, beans, fried eggs, chorizo, chicharron, beef, avocado, and sweet plantains. And they also include some of their favorite items from their food truck, such as their cactus burger.

You can wash it all down with their decadent, house-made milkshakes.

The Cactus Restaurant is open from 8am-9pm, Sundays through Thursdays, and 8am-11pm, Fridays and Saturdays.
