“Our new location in New Albany is truly a labor of love,” Ruben Guzman, owner of The Original Pancake House shared with 614Now. “New Albany was a natural choice for us. The atmosphere at the New Albany location is warm and inviting, ideal for a leisurely breakfast with friends or a cozy family feast. “Securing an end-cap space was serendipitous, allowing us to create an open-air terrace,” Guzman explained.

“We’ve enhanced the ambiance with a fireplace and multiple burners for winter, catering to every season.” The spacious dining area, charming decor, and abundant booths, tailored to customer requests, ensure each visit is a delightful experience.

Must-try dishes include their famous buttermilk pancakes, perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, paired with pure maple syrup. For those with an adventurous palate, the Cherry Kijafa Crepes are not to be missed. Complete your meal with a refreshing glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice or a steaming cup of their signature house-blend coffee.

The Original Pancake House recently introduced an expansive gluten-free menu, a first for any of their locations. “Every recipe, except the Apple Pancake, will now be available gluten-free. It took us nearly two years to develop this menu, ensuring that the texture and quality remain unchanged,” Guzman shared excitedly. “Both the Dutch Baby and Cherry Kijafa, featured on our regular and gluten-free menus, maintain their original flavor profiles—we’re confident you won’t notice the difference. I invite you to take a blind taste test and see for yourselves.”

Whether you’re a longtime fan or a curious newcomer, now is the perfect time to indulge in a plate of pancake perfection at The Original Pancake House in New Albany.

“New Albany makes perfect sense for us – if you look at how our stores as positioned on a map – they are exactly 12 miles in a triangle – and we will continue that mindset of convenience for our customers,” Guzman said. “They had an end-cap available that was perfect for us to have a terrace that’s open to the elements and we’ve installed an fireplace and multiple burners for winter so we think it’ll give the restaurant a different flavor.”
