Tipsy Tacos teaming up with popular bar to open new location

A Columbus taco concept has found a new home inside of a campus-area bar and pool hall.

According to owner Daniel McCarthy, Tipsy Tacos is holding the grand opening celebration of its new eatery May 1, although the eatery has had occasional soft opening runs over last several weeks.

The taco spot is located at 1950 N. 4th St., inside Suzi-Cue Pool Hall. It was previously located inside of Brewstirs Beechwold Tavern.

“I’ve been going [to Suzi-Cue] for a while. I’m a pool player, and my first pool hall when I moved to Columbus from Chicago was this one,” McCarthy told 614Now. “I just became friends with the owner, and it was a place that wanted food. Plus, it’s a bit of a food dessert in that area.”

Patrons can find the Tipsy Tacos kitchen in the back of Suzi-Cue. The eatery is open 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Monday-Saturday and 5-11 p.m. on Sunday. They close about an hour before the pool hall and hold a “last call” for patrons, “so everyone has a chance to get some food still,” McCarthy said.

The concept offers tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas and more. Patrons can choose between a variety of proteins, including ground beef, chorizo, chicken, shredded pork and steak, and even opt for a P.H.A.T. entree, the addition of rice and beans, for no charge.
