Two central Ohio pizzerias make it on Yelp’s 2024 list of ‘Top 100 Pizza Spots in Midwest’
The moment all of us pizza fanatics have been waiting for has finally arrived – Yelp released their exclusive, annual list of the Top 100 Pizza Spots in the Midwest – and two of our own have made it.
Midwest pizza is really in a league of its own – in Chicago, you can grab a deep dish pizza so deep that it almost resembles a pizza casserole instead, or head over to St. Louis for a pizza so thin that the crust cracks just like a saltine. The cool part about Columbus/central Ohio is that you can find pretty much every type of Midwest pizza here.
But there are two spots that shine, according to Yelp.

Congratulations to Tyler’s Pizza, which ranked at the #4 spot! This Reynoldsburg pizzeria & bakery is gaining notoriety for their handmade sourdough-crust pizza, that’s then baked in their wood-fired oven, giving it a smoky taste. Reviewers love the charred, crisp, yet chewy crust, topped with homemade red sauce, and a variety of unique toppings. You can find all of that and more at 7516 E. Main St. in Reynoldsburg.
Further down the list, a Columbus favorite ranked at #51. Terita’s Pizza is famous for their crispy “Columbus-style” pies, with a thin, charred crust, cut in squares, and loaded, edge-to-edge, with toppings. Terita’s was originally founded back in 1959 by Gus Iannarino, and today, Gus’ son Tom owns and runs the shop. The Italian sausage is homemade with no fillers whatsoever, and they use local suppliers for the cheese, sauce, and pepperoni. It’s no wonder this has remained a crowd favorite for the past 60+ years. Pick up your own pie this weekend at 3905 Cleveland Ave.
If you’re wondering how Yelp came to the conclusion that these are some of the best pizzas in the Midwest they said: “We identified businesses in the pizza category with a large concentration of reviews mentioning relevant keywords, and then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning those keywords. We also consulted with our Community Managers to zero in on which spots Yelpers were loving. If a business with multiple locations appeared on the list more than once, we only included the highest-rated location. The list considered businesses in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. We included up to 5 businesses per city, as indicated on Yelp, for geographic diversity. All businesses were marked open on Yelp as of June 10, 2024. When available, all businesses on this list have a passing health score as of June 10, 2024.”
