Accord to ‘USA Today,’ Columbus is one of the country’s 10 best fall destinations

While central Ohio might not be on the top of everyone’s tongue when they’re prompted to name the country’s best fall destinations, we do think our autumns are pretty special.

And apparently, a whole lot of others do as well.

Columbus was recently named one of the top 10 fall destinations in the country by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice awards.

Earlier this year, Columbus was nominated alongside 19 other destinations, with USA Today readers voting on their final top 10.

Columbus finished as the country’s 8th-best fall destination, ahead of Branson, Missouri and Cody, Wyoming. Ohio’s capital city came in just behind Loudon County, Virginia.

Here’s what USA Today said about Columbus:

“There are so many reasons to take a fall trip to Columbus. At the massive Ohio Expo Center, each and every fall, Columbus Oktoberfest celebrates the city’s deep German roots. Pumpkin patches and apple orchards abound in the area, offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy autumnal activities, and visitors shouldn’t miss the gorgeous scenery and changing leaves at Schiller Park.”
