After ‘Rug Gate,’ local TikToker claims house is haunted, hires a psychic

If you thought “Rug Gate,” as local TikToker Katie Santry describes it, concluded when Columbus Police discovered that the rug buried in her front yard did not contain a body, then you thought wrong.

In case you missed it, in early October, Santry and her husband discovered a rug buried in their back yard while they were attempting to dig a fencepost. What followed was a multi-day saga that involved Columbus Homicide, multiple cadaver dogs hitting on the area the rug was buried, and a whole lot more.

Ultimately, Columbus Police dug up the rug, and didn’t find anything inside of it, but the story goes on.

In an Interview with 614Now from last month, Santry mentioned that, immediately after finding the rug, she suspected something paranormal was going on in her home, noting her laptop–which had been in her house the entire time–was found with the screen smashed the following morning.

In a recent video series, Santry invited psychic medium (and TikTok creator with 3 million views) Amie Balesky to her home to get to the bottom of the unusual occurrences that have been happening since Santry found the rug.

The duo set up a push bell on a chair in Santry’s basement while they attempted to channel any of the entities involved in the alleged haunting.

Santry posted a nearly 12 minute-long video recapping the session with Balesky. We won’t give away any of the details, but you can check out the video for yourself below.

@katiesantry WHAT. A. NIGHT. I truly feel like my questions have all been answered at this point. I think the rug was a tool used by my neighbor to help this entire collaboration become reality. We believe she was stuck in her boarded up house that she passed away in and because of the reading last night, she was able to cross over.
