Central Ohio named country’s ‘Hottest Zip Code in America’ by Realtor.com for second straight year

It’s no surprise the Columbus area is home to hot real estate, but it may surprise you to learn one central Ohio city has been named Realtor.com’s “Hottest Zip Code in America” for the second consecutive year.

That city is Gahanna, Ohio. And that zip code, in case you’re wondering, is 43230.

This is the second straight year Gahanna has taken the top spot, a feat which—according to Realtor.com—has never happened since the list’s inception in 2017.

Here’s what realtor.com said about Gahanna:

Gahanna topped the list two years in a row. The Columbus area offers home shoppers the amenities and quality-of-life advantages of a larger town, but at a lower price point. Homes in this ZIP code were priced 11.0% below the metro’s average, and 19.4% below the national median in the first half of the year. The lifestyle and affordability available in ZIP 43230 (Gahanna, Ohio) drew the attention of shoppers in the New York City metro, though almost half of listing viewership came from within the metro.

The city’s official Facebook page announced the achievement as well.

“This repeat honor highlights the desirability of our charming city, and it’s no surprise as to why we are a sought-after area in which to live—our diverse and affordable housing options, high-caliber amenities, quality job opportunities and a perfect blend of suburban peace and urban excitement,” the post reads.
