Columbus man gets 10 years in federal after firing gun in Top Golf parking lot
A Columbus man recently received a decade-long sentence in federal prison for drug charges and a 2023 incident that saw him fire a weapon in the parking lot of the Polaris Top Golf, according to a press release from the United State Department of Justice (DOJ).
In February of 2023, 28 year old Davon Rayford got into an altercation with several individuals at the Polaris location of Top Golf. He then went to his vehicle to retrieve a firearm and fired multiple shots at the individuals before fleeing.

The next day, Rayford was involved in a car crash and attempted the flee the scene while intoxicated, according to the DOJ press release. He was found in possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and Xanax.
He was sentenced to 120 months on Oct. 22 for both gun and drug charges.
