Backwards Yankees hat or not, it’s hard to mistake Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst if you were around in the late 90s and early 00s.

So when the band was in town last weekend for the Sonic Temple Music Festival, an employee of the long-standing local toy shop Big Fun Columbus recognized the musicians, who were in town for Sonic Temple Music on May 19.

“Our manager saw them on the street, walking around outside,” said owner Jason Floyd Williams. “They’re super cool guys. A couple of the band members spent some money at the store, and they gave our manager passes to the show that evening.”

Williams told 614Now that he has had a number of other celebrities stop by the store in the 11 years it’s been open, including Dan Aykroyd, Nancy Cartwright, Rob Zombie and more.

Speaking of the store’s 11 year history, this weekend will be its 11 year anniversary celebration. On May 25, Big Fun will offer 25 percent off to anyone who says theier code word at checkout, which is “fun.” Musical guests and a giant Yoda will also make appearances at the celebration.
