Former Columbus cafe worker wins gold at Paris Olympics
Most of us know that Chocolate Cafe employees can turn out a mean latte, but did you know that some of them are also world-class swimmers?
Former Chocolate Cafe Employee Hunter Armstrong recently claimed gold for the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The cafe took to social media to celebrate yesterday.

“Hunter Armstrong just killed it in the men’s 4×100 freestyle relay in Paris and won gold and we are juiced for him,” Chocolate Cafe’s post reads. “He worked with us three years ago and he was truly delightful. Happy for you Hunter! We owe you some cake.”
According to a Chocolate Cafe representative, Armstrong worked there from September-November of 2021.
“He had wanted to do something to give himself a different experience from swimming and make some money! But then, if I remember correctly, he moved to California to start training for the Olympics,” the cafe representative told 614Now.
Armstrong, alongside Jack Alexy, Chris Guiliano and Caeleb Dressel, took gold in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay, beating the second-place Italian team by 1.07 seconds.
As of Monday morning, this is one of Team USA’s three gold medal in the 2024 Paris games. Until yesterday, it was the team’s only gold.
