Investigation underway as fisherman finds truck submerged in Scioto River

On the morning of July 6, around 10:20 a.m., fire department crews were dispatched to the intersection of Lane Rd. and Riverside Dr. after a fisherman found a truck underwater and called 911.

A spokesperson for Columbus Department of Fire stated that Columbus Fire Divers found an overturned vehicle in the Scioto River, about 15ft submerged. There was also an opening in the trees discovered, where investigators believe a car could have ran through. Investigators stated they believe the car has been underwater for a while due to silt on the truck.
