Franklin County jury rules dog semen worth over $2 million
You’ve probably heard of a sperm bank for humans – but did you know there are sperm banks specifically for dogs, too?

According to the lawsuit, the semen deposits, which were sampled from award-winning, highly ranked dogs, were all unviable, and by the time it was discovered, the dogs were either neutered, unable to produce more semen, or had passed away.

In a six-year legal battle, the dog breeders sued Beechwold Veterinary Hospital, Canine Semen Bank of Columbus, and sperm bank owners Dr. Mark McCloskey and Erik Weisberger over the lost semen collections, and any money they lost from potential litters that could have been bred from those samples.
The Franklin County jury awarded the breeders more than $2.3 million in the damages they were seeking this month.
