Pickup truck crashes into High Street bar, flees the scene

It’s a headline that’s becoming all too familiar in Columbus: another car crash leaves another business to clean up the mess. This time, Char Bar located at 439 N. High Street was the unfortunate victim. 

Around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1st, a white pickup truck with Pennsylvania plates crashed into the popular neighborhood spot.

614Now was on the scene following the crash and spoke with a Char Bar bartender who asked to remain anonymous. “We’re just relieved that no one was hurt,” they shared. “Everyone is safe, but beyond that, the only details we know are that a white pickup truck crashed into us and then drove away.”

Char Bar will be closed until further notice, but they’re asking the community to stay tuned to their social media for updates on their reopening date.
