This 50 year-old canoe and kayak hub has been sold

After closing its doors earlier this year, the property of Trapper John’s Canoe & Livery appears to have found a new owner.

According to real estate website Elifin, the long-standing outdoor adventure hub was sold for $440,000. Franklin County Auditor’s records confirm the sale, which occurred on Oct. 1.

Trapper John’s was located at 7141 Groveport Rd. in Grove City.

The Grove City spot closed its doors in May (just before what would have been the start of its annual season) after operating for more than five decades. When it closed, owners posted a statement noting that Trapper John’s intended on “passing the torch to new owners who will continue to uphold the same values that have made Trapper Johns a beloved part of the community.”

It’s currently unclear who purchased the property, or what their plans for it are.
