The majority owner of TownHall, a Short North bar & restaurant known for being openly vocal on social media about the importance of “wellness” and “values,” is now facing nine felony counts, according to the Cleveland Municipal Court.

Records show that Robert “Bobby” George is facing charges including attempted murder, rape, four counts of kidnapping, felonious assault, and two counts of strangulation. The charges were filed on August 9, with records showing a woman told Cleveland Police the alleged physical and verbal abuse, including strangulation and rape, happened between November 2023 and June 2024.

George allegedly caused multiple injuries to the victim. The 614 team has reached out to Cleveland Municipal Court to request the documents that would reveal even more details of George’s charges.

He turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued for these multiple charges, with a bond set at $200,000.

George is involved with multiple restaurants besides just TownHall – he also owns the Short North bar called Mandrake Rooftop, as well as the non-GMO cafe in Dublin called REBoL, plus several other Cleveland businesses.

Most of the restaurants under George’s ownership have since turned off all comments on their social media.
