614 feast picks his five favorite Columbus patios

Anthony O'Connell

Columbus has a lot of amazing patios, which is perfect, because summer is here and it’s time for outdoor dining (and drinking). Whether you’re looking for a cozy corner to relax, a fancy feast, a lively space to enjoy with friends, or even a patio pizza party, the perfect patio is here waiting for you.

I love eating outside, so pretty much any patio is a hit. These patios I’ve included on this list, though, are special, and of course the drinks and food are great too. Here are my top favorite patios you should check out this summer:

Lindey’s (169 E. Beck St.)

Their patio is as beautiful as it is iconic and it’s first come, first served. Lindey’s patio is so popular that the word “patio” is mentioned in over 200 reviews on Google. Even so, I had to add it to my list. Their fine dining menu tastes even better al fresco.

Jackie O’s On Fourth (171 N. 4th St.)

This two-story patio offers top-tier vibes and great views of downtown Columbus. The space is aesthetically pleasing with craft beers, tasty cocktails, and Midwest sandwiches from Goood Friends.

Gemüt Biergarten (734 Oak St.)

I love a gazebo, and drinking an ice-cold radler (half beer, half sparkling fruit juice) in their gazebo or shaded patio is hard to beat. Pair the vibes with their high-quality German fare, and this classic brewhouse with a beautiful beer garden is hard to beat.

Woodlands Tavern (1200 W. 3rd Ave.)

A chill neighborhood bar with live music and a dog-friendly patio. The fire pit and live performances are the stars of the show, and you can step it up a notch with a craft beer and dinner from Blackbird Kitchen, the delicious and inventive restaurant inside Woodlands Tavern.

Plank’s Bier Garten (888 S. High St.)

Pizza party in the sun, what’s more fun? This longtime beer garden has a large outdoor area, several TVs, and a mix of pub grub and pizzas. It’s a great casual neighborhood beer garden.

Have you been to all five of these? Let us know which patio you think is the best in Columbus.
