Earthquake confirmed on Ohio/Kentucky border
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), Ohio has one of the lowest hazards of earthquake activity in the nation. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
Early Thursday morning, shortly after midnight, a USGS seismograph picked up an earthquake of a magnitude of 2.4 about 4 miles away from Georgetown, OH, and 40 miles Southeast of Cincinnati, occurring at a depth of 5 miles. According to the USGS, this Valley is one of the least at-risk places for a damaging earthquake.
