Just one day after Barstool Sports Founder and omnipresent internet pizza guy Dave Portnoy gave Emilio’s Pizza a massive 8.1 score—which is tied for the highest in Ohio on “One Bite Pizza Reviews” alongside Sexton and Stubborn Brother in Toledo—he handed out another solid score to a different Columbus pizzeria.
Portnoy stopped by Bazemore Pizza the weekend Ohio State defeated Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoff, and he gave the eatery a highly-respectable 7.4. The video was published yesterday (his Emilio’s Pizza video came out the day prior).
As Bazemore (which operates out of The Pointe Tavern in Upper Arlington) doesn’t have a traditional pizza oven, Portnoy commended their ability to make the most of their situation.

“This is as good as you can do with that oven, conveyor. Nice and crispy, tasty, sauce is good, bread is good,” he said. “So they’re making masterpieces out of a tough situation with that oven.”
While that score may not seem high if you’re unfamiliar with “One Bite Pizza Reviews,” Portnoy is a notoriously tough critic, and a score in the mid-7s is one of the highest a Columbus eatery has ever received. Only Leone’s (7.8) and Sexton’s/Emilio’s (both 8.1) have received higher marks.
