Five late-summer festivals to visit this weekend
It’s getting to be that time of year when it feels like we need to make every second of summer count before it’s gone for good. That’s why we hand-picked five different events that are coming up the weekend of Aug. 12 and 13. If you’re feeling indecisive, we suggest hitting up all of them!
This monthly outdoor street festival at Pearl and Gay streets is slated for Aug. 13. It’s an excuse to head downtown and visit area businesses that feature extended hours and promotions in honor of the festivities. You can also browse a wide variety of sidewalk vendors featuring artisan products.
St. Mary German Village Homecoming Festival
Taking place from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 13, the St. Mary festival features games for the kids, and a variety of beer and wine for the adults. Even better? Admission is free.
BROUGHT TO YOU BY
Tequila Fest’s third celebration is slated for 4 to 9 p.m. Aug. 13 at a new venue called The Gravity Project. For $50, attendees can sample spirits from a collection featuring over 50 different tequilas. The event also features live entertainment and food from Barrio.
This celebration of family and community will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 13 and 14 at Genoa Park. The celebration is free to attend, and will feature music, food, fashion, art, and dance that represents Latin American culture.
Is it even summer in Ohio without corn? This event, slated for noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 13 at 2340 W. Dublin Rd., features Ohio Sweet Corn along with roasted peaches. Visitors will be able to sample a variety of foods and peruse unique items from Ohio’s small business vendors.
