The Witches Ball, celebrating the Pagan holiday Samhain, returns to Columbus Convention Center for 25th year this weekend
The Columbus Witches Ball has been a central Ohio tradition now for over two decades, but these are probably not the kind of witches you’re thinking of.
The event is a celebration of Samhain, a Pagan religious holiday centered around the harvest.
“Samhain is one of the most sacred holidays for the Pagan community, and this is a chance for people across Ohio to come together and celebrate,” said Seamus Dilliard, owner of the Magical Druid, a long-standing spiritual supply store in Clintonville serving the Pagan community. The Magical Druid has organized The Witches Ball for the last 15 years as well.

The Ball will be held at the Columbus Convention Center on Nov. 5, from 6-11 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here for $27.99. They regularly sell out, so act fast if you want to join this year.
Similar to the 2021 Ball, this year’s event will also feature a live DJ, alongside a wide number of Pagan-related vendors. Additionally, the Witches Ball will also feature an ancestors shrine, which plays an important role in the celebration of Samhain.
“Ancestor worship is big this time of year for Pagans. If we’re celebrating life and death like we do in Samhain, we also have to celebrate our ancestors, where we came from,” Dilliard said.
