10.5 acre outdoor “Adventure Park” with canopy walks and more proposed for Columbus area

Your next big adventure could be coming to Westerville.

Yesterday, the City of Westerville announced it will hold a public meeting to consult the Westerville community about the proposed addition of a  10.5-acre outdoor recreation space called Edge Adventure Park.

The meeting will be held on Jan. 12 at 6:30 p.m., in the Westerville Community Center multi-purpose room.

According to information from the city of Westerville, Edge Adventure Park would be located in a 10.5-acre wooded ravine between Vesper Way and Cleveland Avenue.

While information is still being gathered from community members to determine what they would like to see developed within the park (this is one of the purposes of the Jan. 12 meeting), the park may include canopy walks, trails, and adventure play courses, in addition to a connection with the Alum Creek Trail and Westar area.

The western end of the proposed park connects to waterways and ravines that extend throughout the city, and its location along the western bank of Alum Creek would connect the park to a planned Rapid-5 waterway corridor.
