This family-fun event transports you back to a Halloween night in the 1800s

Maybe your child or teen is getting to the stage where they’re curious about Halloween traditions, but still don’t like to be entirely spooked out. If this sounds like anyone in your family, there’s a night out that’s perfect for you all to attend together.

The Ohio Village is putting together a Victorian-era “All Hallows’ Eve” that’s reminiscent of a Halloween night in the 1890s. This family-fun event consists of a large bonfire with a retelling of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, plus pumpkin carving, fortune telling, crafts, games, and more.

Along with the events planned above, special programs include the following, according to their website:

· Follow the lit pumpkin path to the amphitheater to watch for the ghostly apparition of the Headless Horseman, as our storyteller retells Washington Irving’s famous story.

· Take part in a 19th century masquerade party.

· Hear from the widow Claire on how her most recent and unfortunate husband has passed, and the bizarre circumstances around it.

· Explore the funeral parlor and learn about 19th century funeral practices.

Some of the members of Ohio Village will also be dressed up in Victorian outfits, and you can come in costume, too!

This night will occur on the 21st and 28th from 5:30-9:30pm, so make sure to grab the required, advanced tickets here. The tickets are $18/Adult; $14 Youth (ages 4-12); Free/Child (age 3 & under). Members and premium members receive a discount.
