New, casual, Mississippi soul-food and homestyle breakfast spot opens today in unique location
The food mart at a local fueling station is about to get a major upgrade – one with soul food classics like honey BBQ chicken thighs, Southern cornbread, and even homestyle breakfast sandwiches.
Ooey Gooey Ohio, a new eatery with Columbus roots, has made a strategic decision to partner up with Shell Food Mart at 2192 S. Hamilton Rd. Starting today, February 20, according to their social media, you can grab their hot, homemade food, all in a fast-casual atmosphere. When you’re fueling up on gas, you can fuel up on food, too.
And not just any food – they have Ooey Gooey’s signature breakfast platter, which includes a waffle, turkey or pork bacon or sausage, 2 eggs, and tater tots. You can also grab breakfast sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, and breakfast a la carte sides. If you’re there during lunch or dinner hours, you can grab homemade fare like Cleveland Polish boys, chili cheese hotdogs, or combination platters with your choice of Mississippi honey BBQ or Southern smothered chicken wings or thighs.

Of course, you can’t forget their signature Ooey Gooey mac & cheese, plus other sides like Southern cornbread, baked beans, green beans with smoked turkey, homemade cookies, and 4th generation pound cake.
Incredible, home-made food served in convenience stores may seem obscure, but in larger cities like New York and Tokyo, some of the absolute best food in the city is found in these convenience stores. Ooey Gooey is ahead of the curve.
They’re open Mon-Wed, 7am-2pm, Thursdays 7am-8pm, and Fridays, 7am-9pm.
