National travel publication names Columbus as one of the country’s best family-friendly travel destinations
Just two days after Forbes released its own Columbus travel guide, national travel publication Afar has tapped The Arch City as one of the best family-friendly travel spots for this year.
The Afar story, which is titled “Our Favorite Family Destinations Across the U.S. for 2024,” included Columbus in a list of eight different spots across the country.
“As our plane touched down in Columbus from Tampa in Fall 2023, my then six year old told his sister they’d be welcomed on the ground with flower necklaces called leis. He’d somehow mistaken Ohio for O‘ahu when I told him we were going on a fall trip. But Columbus delivered so deeply on family fun that there was never a regret,” the story reads.

The other destinations named in the story include Buffalo, Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, Santa Fe, Denver, Jackson (Wyoming), Kaua‘i (Hawaiʻi) and Lake County in northern California.
