Historic Columbus ice cream brand opening another new location

Just months after Johnson’s Real Ice Cream opened new Grandview and Italian Village storefronts, another new location for the long-standing brand is coming soon.

According to a social media statement, Johnson’s Canal Winchester storefront will hold its grand opening on May 22 at 6 p.m. The post noted the ice cream shop’s signage is up, and its patio is nearly complete.

The new Johnson’s is located at 20 S. High St. in Canal Winchester.

The scoop shop noted it will take up regular operating hours beginning May 23, and those hours will be announced soon.

John’s Real Ice Cream opened its first store in Bexley in 1950. This location still stands today, alongside stores in Dublin, New Albany, and a pair of other new locations in Grandview and Italian Village.
