Ohio Ice Cream Trail returning with more than 50 different stops

It’s no secret temperatures have been steadily rising in Ohio this summer, and with highs recently reaching into the 90s, there’s only one solution on everyone’s mind:

Ice Cream! 

With July being national ice cream month, there’s no better time to celebrate the return of the Ohio Ice Cream Trail – this year with an additional 34 shops added to the list. 

Ohio, ranked No.11 in the nation for milk production, has over 1400 dairy farms across the state, leading the way for a plethora of ice cream shops each specializing in a unique version of the sweet treat. Highlighting locally–owned and nationally–known shops, there’s guaranteed to be something for everyone.

The trail runs through all corners of the state, inviting patrons to not only revisit their favorite spots, such as Johnson’s Real Ice Cream in Bexley and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream in Columbus, but also to discover hidden-gems such as Eda’s Italian Ice in Marysville and Round Hill Dairy in Mount Vernon. 

Craving more than the central Ohio favorites? No worries, patrons can follow the official Ice Cream Trail map to all 54 locations scattered across the state – just make sure not to get a brain freeze along the way.

Additionally, the city of Westerville is launching its own ice cream trail this year. Open from July 1-Sept. 30, the passport style trail will include either different locations, including Coldstone Creamy, Whit’s Frozen Custard, Orange Leaf, Coppa Gelato, Little Ladies Soft Serve, Graeter’s Dairy Queen and Rita’s.
