“Grand Theft Hamlet” is coming to Columbus

While the worlds of Shakespeare and the hit video game series “Grand Theft Auto” don’t often intersect, when they do, it’s a sight to be seen.

“Grand Theft Hamlet” is coming to the Wexner Center for the Arts on Oct. 20 at 3:15 p.m.

Tickets, which can be purchased here, are $10 for the general public, $8 for Wexner members and individuals over the age of 55, and $5 for students.

The documentary follows two out of work stage actors, Sam and Mark, as they create a rendition of the Shakespearean masterpiece entirely in the world of “Grand Theft Auto.” This means all of the film footage occurs in-game.

“This film charts their ridiculous, hilarious, and moving adventure as they battle violent gamers who are intentionally trying to disrupt the performance. Together, they discover surprising truths about life, friendship, and the enduring power of Shakespeare,” a description of the movie on the “Grand Theft Hamlet” website reads.
