A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the death of 14-year-old Amanda Kirwin. The boy has been charged with one felony count with one count of murder and has been arrested, according to police.

Family mourn the loss of 14yo girl shot in front of home
UPDATE: Police believe the shot wasn’t intended for 14-year-old Amanda Kirwin who was killed outside of her home, but nonetheless, the teen who had just graduated from middle school died after gunshots were fired. “She was so young, like, she didn’t get to live her life at all,” friend Chelsea Hook told ABC6. “Why her?” Family and friends brought food to the house and gathered to mourn her death Tuesday.

After shots were fired in Franklinton Monday night, 14-year-old Amanda Kirwin was found on the road in front of a house by medics. According to NBC4, she was shot in her upper body, and was later pronounced dead after being taken to Mount Carmel West Hospital. Detectives said that Kirwin had been with friends in front of a house when shots were heard and a man was running on foot after the shots.
