Kasich’s TX shooting address called “Useless gesture”
An attack by a single gunman on a small church outside of San Antonio, Texas yesterday left 26 people dead and 20 injured. This morning, Ohio Governor John Kasich ordered that the Ohio and United States flags be lowered to half-staff in memory of those affected by the horrific incident.
Kasich shared the news on his Twitter account and was met with overwhelmingly disappointed responses.
Most people to reply to his Tweet wanted to see Kasich take a stronger stance against gun control. Here’s what they had to say:
Today we are lowering flags to half-staff to honor the victims of yesterday’s attack in Texas. pic.twitter.com/AH1cL9m7z9

Fix the gun laws, governor. Now.

Let’s honor them more by having a serious conversation about guns and gun violence in this country. It is about guns, not mental health.

I’d rather see gun control legislation. Would mean a lot more. Fight the NRA &get guns out of hands of white men that have criminal bckgrnds

nice idea but how about making it harder to get the dam guns in the first place then there would be no reason to lower flags

As a campaign volunteer & long-time supporter, I’m asking you to come out for banning civilian ownership & sales of all rapid-fire weapons.

Governor, are you willing to show the same initiative and bipartisanship to address gun violence in the US as you did with healthcare?
