Heather Campbell’s murderer considered “sloppy drunk”
The man who shot and killed 22-year-old Ohio State student Heather Campbell then took his own life had a BAC level nearly three times the legal limit during the night of the murder-suicide.
The toxicology report on Kyle Lafferty, Campbell’s live-in boyfriend, showed that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.21 and according to a University of Rochester Medical Center website per The Lantern, a person with that much alcohol in their system is considered “sloppy drunk,” and near the point of blackout.
Campbell, whose BAC was 0.22, was shot in her left cheek and left thigh. Her time of injury is unknown but she was pronounced dead at 3:16 a.m. September 17.
Following her death, Lafferty took his own life. His time of injury was 2:33 a.m. but was also pronounced dead at 3:16 a.m. on September 17.
