Ladies get 20% off BrewDog’s gender pay gap protest  beer

Women in the U.S. earn 20 percent less than men and the women of BrewDog can’t accept that. The powerhouse brewery is taking on the issue by launching a new protest beer that will be available to women for 20 percent less than men, mirroring the gender pay gap.

The beer is called “Pink IPA,” packaged with a pink label, and marketed as a ‘beer for girls’—an overt parody on the tone-deaf, failed attempts by companies to market products to women, according to the website.

The name and aesthetic will be different but on the inside, it’s just BrewDog’s flagship Punk IPA. Get it?

Proceeds from Pink IPA will be going to two charities that combat gender inequalities.

“The beer industry has a duty to be representative of the people who drink beer,” said Tanisha Robinson, CEO of BrewDog USA. “In practice, this means actively working toward inclusive work environments, rejecting sexist marketing and fighting societal stereotypes that push women away from spaces where beer is enjoyed. Pink IPA is our rallying call to brewers and beer fans to rise to the challenge and change the image of beer forever.”
