Milo’s Catering finds a home downtown

Milo’s Catering has taken over as exclusive operator of three event spaces in the historic Smith Bros’ Hardware Co. building. The spaces, now collectively called North 4th Corridor, became available after Juniper Rooftop and Dock 580 shut down permanently in June.

“The beauty is truly in the bones of the Smith Brother’s building. Each space has a story to tell and we intend to continue to enhance these spaces to appeal to multiple tastes and budgets,” said owner Louie Pappas in a press release.

The three venues–called Revery, Brick & Mortar, and Post 4–each provide distinct amenities.

Revery, replacing Juniper, is a glass-enclosed rooftop space that offers downtown views. Brick & Mortar features rustic decor and a courtyard space. Post 4 is a multi-level industrial space with outdoor access via a large glass garage door.

The move represents a substantial expansion for Milo’s Catering, which has not previously operated its own space. When everything is up and running, he predicts the company’s staff will double in size. Despite the significant strain that COVID-19 has put on the events industry, Pappas is confident this is the right move.

“In difficult times, opportunities come about, and we just felt for us–in the long term–this was the right move,” Pappas said. “People probably thought we were a little crazy making an aggressive move like this, but we were ready for it.”

If all goes well, Pappas hopes to begin hosting one-off public events in collaboration with distilleries and breweries next summer and fall. In the meantime, the complex is taking reservations for small events such as holiday parties.
