Mozart’s Bakery and Piano Cafe

Mozart’s Bakery & Piano Cafe in Clintonville is dolling what is likely one of the most expensive desserts around. For the price of $250, customers can order a Pistachio Marzipan Bourbon Truffle (of course with notice so that the bakery can import all of the ingredients). “It is absolutely the most expensive dessert in the Midwest, if not the United States,” bakery owner Anand Saha said. The truffle is made with Watershed Distillery’s bourbon, pistachio marzipan, chocolate imported from France and then cloaked in Paolo Angeletti 23-carat edible gold from Italy. Saha’s goal was something so over-the-top that people would talk about it. The goal isn’t even to make money. 100 percent of profits from the expensive treat will be given to the charity of the customer’s choice.
