US Senator Sherrod Brown made a pit stop in Franklinton, hoping to infuse support into the local community. There has been a $16 billion settlement between Bank of American and the US Department of Justice and Brown said he wants some of that money funneled into the neighborhood. “Ohio’s communities bore the brunt of the abusive and illegal tactics used by big banks to deceive homeowners during the depths of the housing crisis,” he said, according to Columbus Underground. Friday he released a letter that also has the support of fellow Senator Rob Portman, and in that letter he wrote out how those funds could practically be moved into Ohio’s communities that need help with foreclosure rates home rehabilitation programs.
